Celebrating Area Women: Judy Stevens

Judy Stevens and her husband Dean took ownership of Double D Western store in Huron, SD, eleven and half years ago. And they are still married. With a lot of hard work and stretching the envelope, they have continued to expand.  What was once strictly a western footwear and tack retail store, is now a fashion forward unique clothing apparel, footwear, and tack shopping experience.  Judy says “to be successful, one needs to keep moving forward, thinking outside the box.”

In addition to the unique, western trendy fashions, including amazing jewelry, coats, and boots, what truly sets Double D apart is the customer service.  “We are here to serve our customers, wherever they live,” added Judy.  “We have customers from all over the State of South Dakota, as well as other parts of the country.  Many of them have become our friends.”

A personal passion of the Stevens’ is to instill in the youth of today the importance of a strong work ethic.  Whenever they can, they employ the younger people at Double D or to assist with special events.  They are also heavily involved with the 4-H, Rodeo High school and Jr High Rodeo, Barrel Racings, livestock shows both locally and across the state.

Double D Western store isn’t just for those who ride horses or ranch.  If you haven’t been to Double D, you are missing out on a great shopping experience!
